Maggie Grace was born Margaret Grace Denig in September 21 in 1983. She is an American Actress best known as Shannon Rutherford in ABC TV show Lost. After the divorce of her parents the actress left Worthington in Ohio and moved in Los Angeles. The year 2001 was a difficult one for her, but despite finances she managed to land her first major performance in the video online show Rachel's Room playing the lead character. After earning a Young Artist Award in 2002 for her performance as Murder on the streets of Greenwich of a 15-year young Martha Moxley as a murder victim, Grace went on to take home the award. Grace played Shannon Rutherford on the Lost television show in 2004. She was the main role for two seasons, and also won a Screen Actors Guild Award. Leaving the series Grace wanted to appear as a film actress, and had played opposite Tom Welling in The Fog in 2005. She starred as Kim Mills opposite Liam Neeson (both in Taken 2008) in Suburban Girl as well as The Jane Austen Book Club. The actress reprised her character as Kim Mills in Taken 2 (2011) and Taken 3 (2013).She also played Alice in Malice in Wonderland, a modern version of the Lewis Carroll novel Alice's Adventures in Wonderland. Grace reprised Shannon's role on Lost for two episodes, which included the final episode of the series. In 2013, she appeared in the sixth series of Californication. The role she plays is Faith, a groupie who acts as a muse to celebrities and attracts the attention of Hank Moody (David Duchovny). Part of the Gyllenhaal family, she is the child of filmmakers Stephen Gyllenhaal and Naomi Achs and the older sister of actor Jake Gyllenhaal. Her career began when she was a teenager, playing small appearances in the films of her father and starred alongside her brother in the cult favorite Donnie Darko (2001). In 2002, she appeared as a character on Adaptation Confessions of a Dangerous Mind. She also appeared in Mona Lisa Smile (2003). Gyllenhaal received nominations for a Golden Globe Award in both the drama Sherrybaby (2005) and the love story Secretary (2002). The two films were critically acclaimed. After a string of commercially successful films, like World Trade Center in 2006 her name was recognized more widely when she played Rachel Dawes (the superhero) in The Dark Knight (2007). For her performance as a single mom in Crazy Heart (2009) she was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress. The following year, she starred in dramatics and comedies: Nanny McPhee and the Big Bang (2010) Hysteria (2011) and The Won't Back Down (2012). In addition to her role as an agent of the Secret Service agent, she has also appeared on screen in White House Down (2013) as well as Frank (2014). Her most recent roles include the protagonist The Kindergarten Teacher The Kindergarten Teacher (2018). Gyllenhaal started her career as a screenwriter, director and writer in the year 2021. she wrote and directed the psychological thriller The Lost Daughter. The film won Best Screenplay at The Venice International Film Festival, and was also nominated for the Academy Award.
